The Provincial Road Management Facility (PRMF) seeks to promote economic growth and improved public access to infrastructure services in the southern Philippines. PRMF forms one component of a broader Government of Australia (GOA) intervention in road rehabilitation and maintenance and sub-national government capacity building. Coordination with other GOA funded projects will be important to leverage the greatest impact. In addition to PRMF, GOA contributions may be made as follows: (a) Potential cofinancing with the World Bank to support the National Roads Improvement and Management Program, Phase II (NRIMP2), or similar activities being undertaken by other development partners; (b) Support for Municipal and Barangay roads through cofinancing of the World Bank supported Mindanao Rural Development Project, Phase II (MRDP2); and (c) Potential cofinancing of a World Bank program to support improved financial allocations from central government to local government units (LGUs) based on performance criteria.
